net-metering in India

Image
Net Metering policy for roof top PVs in various states in India Solar powered systems can be divided as: Grid connected solar power system. Stand alone Offgrid system. When solar energy production is in excess as compared to the load requirement at that moment, the excess energy we can be either stored in the batteries or can be sold back to the utility grid. This difference of energy can be tracked using a meter connected to your solar pv system. usually following two types metering systems are involved: Gross metering Net Metering  Net metering is an agreement that allows the solar PV system owner to sell excess solar energy to the utility company or buy deficit energy from the utility company using a meter to track this energy exchange. Advantages of Net Metering: The most important advantages of net metering are: 1. Financial benefit for the system owner Since the system owner is charged for the net energy consumed from the utility grid, the ow...

Solar Energy Industry in India & Its Future Prospects

Image
PV Solar System Installer training programme - March 2015 at IST The Indian solar energy sector has been growing rapidly, in the past few years, majorly due to Government’s initiatives such as tax exemptions and subsidies. Due to technical potential of 5,000 trillion kWh per year and minimum operating cost, Solar Power is considered the best suited energy source for India. Much of the country does not have an electrical grid, so solar power will indeed be a boon for water pumping, to begin replacing India's four to five million diesel powered water pumps, each consuming about 3.5 kilowatt of off-grid lighting. Solar energy technology consists of solar thermal technologies, which utilize sun’s energy and solar photovoltaic technology, which convert solar energy directly into electricity. India has been ranked 7th worldwide for solar photovoltaic (PV) cell production and secure 9th rank in solar thermal power generation. This capacity is growing rapidly due to the e...

600 MW of solar rooftop installations on homes by 2018

Image
Going by the 2011 Census, India has around 330 million houses, with 140 million houses having proper roofs which can accommodate on an average 1-3kWp of solar PV system. Among the 140 million houses, around 130 million are having two rooms. Besides, there are other commercial buildings, shopping complexes and offices that can accommodate larger solar PV capacities. Taking into account the houses with two rooms, approximately 25000 MW of solar capacity can be installed by putting solar panels on 20 per cent of the roofs. With quality sunshine around the year, and huge availability of rooftop space in the country, India can kick out the power woes by installing solar panels on them. As of now, there is clear lack of awareness and the will to harness the potential that could help the country address the issue of energy security to a greater extent. A market study on the residential solar segment in India and estimates that this market will grow up to 600 MW by 2018. This equates t...

Lithium-ion Battery Assembly Consultancy

Image
Lithium-ion Battery Assembly Consultancy Lithium-ion battery  is the core component of electric vehicles, grid trough periods of surplus electricity can be stored and used to drive an electric car, you can implement the strategy of low power instead of oil, reduce our demand for oil and improve urban air quality, battery store excess electricity during peak hours back to the grid can also achieve peaking. Once the grid has a strong ability to regulate the power of solar, wind, geothermal, ocean energy and other clean power generation means for generating intermittent easily into the grid, clean energy will gain large-scale applications, which solve mankind’s energy and environmental problems It will have a crucial role. Characteristics of the  lithium-ion battery industry  is the quantity, but the large scale, high technology and equipment of small, has a strong capability of independent innovation and even less, companies n...
