Grid-Tie Solar Power Systems
Definition:
Grid-Tie Solar Photo-Voltaic (SPV) systems are SPV systems which can be connected to the existing Electricity Grid (EG) and Diesel Generators (DG) without the need of energy storage units (battery banks). During the sunlight hours, the generated solar power is utilized to operate the loads. When sufficient solar power is not available (overload situations and during no sunlight), the system draws the required power from the existing EG.

Advantages:
- These SPV systems help reduce the power drawn from the existing EG and DG; therefore savings increase with every power price hike!
- Lower in cost with better return (ROI) period
- These SPV systems are capable of transferring the excess solar electricity generated into the existing Government EGs
- These SPV systems are maintenance free with zero recurring costs
- The life expectancy of these SPV systems is more than 25 years
Technical Specifications:
- 3-Phase, 415 VAC true and pure sine wave power
- HHV solar photo voltaic modules (CE, IEC, and UL certified)
- SMA inverters (CE, EN, and IEC certified)
- Surge Protections and Wiring as per the Standards
- SPV system components are Indian Govt. (MNRE) norms compliant
Off-Grid Solar Power Systems
Definition:
Off-Grid Solar Photo-Voltaic (SPV) systems are standalone systems that consists of Solar Photo Voltaic modules (arrays of photo voltaic cells) along energy storage units (battery banks) in order to store the solar power generated by the photo voltaic cells in the presence of sunlight. This stored energy is then utilized to operate the loads at anytime of the day.
Advantages:
- Independence from the EG ; therefore savings increase with every power price hike!
- Unaffected from EG failures or Power outages
- These SPV systems are capable of transferring the excess solar electricity generated into the existing Government EGs
- The life expectancy of these SPV systems is more than 25 years
Solar Power Plants
Institute of Solar Technology (IST) offers training designing, sourcing, installation, and maintenance services for Grid-Tie Solar Photo-Voltaic (SPV) systems for Solar Power Plants.
Building Integrated Photo-Voltaics (BIPV)
Generate Solar Power from the residential, commercial, and recreational facilities simply by incorporating the BIPVs into the construction of the buildings without compromising the esthetics of the building. Depending on the system power generation capacity, the BIPVs can be used as the main or ancillary source of electrical power for the buildings.
